Campaign
on disaster
displacement

We partnered with NRC’s Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) to create a campaign that brings disaster displacement to the forefront of global climate action ahead of COP30 and UNFCCC negotiations.

Climate-related disasters force millions of people to flee every year, with the greatest impact on low-income and vulnerable communities. As extreme weather events become more frequent and intense, displacement is set to rise unless urgent action is taken.

Grounded in IDMC’s data and evidence, the campaign frames displacement as a critical dimension of loss and damage, highlighting its long-term social and economic consequences. It calls on governments to integrate displacement into climate policy, national planning, and financing mechanisms.

Designed as a clear, high-impact advocacy tool, the campaign supports stronger technical assistance, accessible climate finance, and durable solutions that protect displaced people and reduce future risk.
